WEC 50 Viewer Numbers Hold to Trend – And That’s Not Good

WEC 50 took place Aug. 18 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

The card featured the bantamweight title bout between champion Dominick Cruz and challenger Joseph Benavidez.

Ratings remained comparable to the smaller ZUFFA promotion’s most recent event, WEC 49, which drew an average audience of 324,000 viewers.

WEC 49 and 50 lacked big-name drawing cards like Urijah Faber, Jose Aldo and Miguel Torres.

WEC 50 did turn out to be the lowest-rated show for the WEC since the promotion’s monster WEC 34 event (1.54 million viewers) in 2008.
