John Howard Will Be Taking A Little Vacation

If you didn’t know anything about John Howard before his fight last night at UFC on Versus 2 with Jake Ellenberger, you should now.

They don’t come packaged with more heart than Howard has pounding in his chest.

Howard took a vicious elbow to the cheekbone early on in the second round from Ellenberger, and rather than cover and decide he should let the rest of the fight take its course, Howard just kept working and coming.

The doctor stoppage, while entirely justified for Howard’s safety, wasn’t the gutty fighter’s idea of a finish. We don’t doubt for an instant that Howard would have kept up the battle though he was clearly at the point where seeing out of either eye was difficult, if not impossible.

That’s sacking up in a big way, and you can only hope this loss won’t spell the end for Howard in the UFC. Sometimes, a good performance in a tough loss should count for a lot, and this is one of those times…Similar Posts:
